Trainee sharing spotlight: Stop waiting for “ready” – just dive in!

Hi everyone, I’m Thao, currently an M&A Advisor at Profit Station.

Looking back to 2023, as a student, I joined the Private Equity – Investment Banking for Dealmakers course at Vietnam Investment Nurturing Hub. At the time, PE and IB were just vague concepts to me. Mr. Vinh Vo-Sang didn’t just provide a bird’s-eye view of the industry; he showed me exactly what it takes to succeed, helping me self-assess and find a clear direction for my career path.

What I value just as much is the community Mr. Vinh Vo-Sang has built. Through various networking events, I’ve had the chance to connect with industry leaders and seasoned professionals who are always ready to share their “battle-tested” experiences—something no textbook can offer.

Two years later, I am living my dream job. The knowledge I gained back then feels even more profound today—not because the theories changed, but because I have grown through real-world experience.

I am truly grateful to Mr. Vinh Vo-Sang, not just for the technical expertise but for the professional mindset and the “trial by fire” lessons in PE–IB. Being exposed to these insights early on has been a huge inspiration in my journey.

To anyone standing where I was 3 years ago: Don’t wait. Be curious, be proactive, and jump into new challenges. That’s where you’ll learn the most.
